As a mother and expert on feeding children, Christine gained expertise at her own table. “My daughter Sydney went to farmers markets, food stores and restaurants when she was in her stroller. We’d grind her food in a small plastic food mill, and she ate what we did. I knew that by having her taste everything, early on, she’d learn to appreciate fresh, healthy food. Thirteen years later, Sydney is a teenager who explores food, and will eat just about everything…except goat cheese. We’re still working on that.”

Harvest Moon expertly provides highly nutritious, organic, and tasty school lunches. Drawing upon her extensive experience as a corporate executive chef, Christine Drapkin knows how to make daily food programs delicious, non-repetitive, and exciting. That’s why she has re-invented the school lunch program at The Wesley School in North Hollywood, California to be so much more than the daily food tray.

The Wesley School
The benefits of a healthy school lunch don’t really need to be debated. Research shows that students learn better, are healthier, have more confidence and concentrate more easily with a balanced and nutritional meal. Harvest Moon has developed a program of healthy meals, organic education, and organic gardening to support kids not just getting a great lunch and snacks, but learning how to eat right.

The Edible School Garden Project:
Harvest Moon staffers designed, planned and developed a plan for an organic garden that will feed the school for the entire school year. Students of the Wesley School planted and will care for the garden as part of an educational track Christine Drapkin has developed to teach students about nutrition, sustainability, and organic foods.
School Lunch Program
Harvest Moon has developed kid-friendly, hot, high quality meals. And, Harvest Moon offers a menu that changes frequently, reflecting the bounty of the garden and the changing seasons. Utilizing fresh regional food from quality purveyors, local farms and organic produce from the Wesley Garden, the meal program at Wesley serves fresh hot lunches, healthy breakfasts, and tasty, nutritious snacks. Enrichment and Education
Harvest Moon has instituted a number of exciting educational and enrichment initiatives including the garden, cooking classes for all ages, a blog, and web based learning are all being instituted a Wesley.
Special Events
